Essential Steps for Designing Your Ship
When building a spaceship, there are several key elements you need to keep in mind!
Drawing the Ship Layout
First, use left-click on the grid to draw and design the desired shape of your ship. If you make a mistake, use the Erase Tool to remove pieces.
Make sure to create a large, open space for the Engineering Room and a second room for the Command Bridge.
(Tip: Use the ship’s stats to balance different elements as you build.)
Navigating the Build Menu
Browse the categories to find the necessary components for your ship.
Engineering Room Setup
- Engine Placement: Place an engine at the rear of the ship’s exterior.
- Resource Storage: Add as much Uranium Storage and Energy Storage as needed.
- Energy Generation: Add the required number of Energy Generators to power your ship.
Optional Choices:
- Install either a Jump Generator or a Hyperspace Generator (choose only one!).
- Jump Generator: Provides instant travel but has a cooldown.
- Hyperspace Generator: No cooldown but requires travel time.
Additional Option:
- Place as many Shield Generators as desired for extra protection.
Command Bridge Setup
- Navigation Console: Controls propulsion; place one on the command bridge.
- Engineering Console: Manages energy flow; make sure to include this.
- Weapons Console (optional): Controls the ship’s armament.
- Station Console: This is only needed for space stations, which are immobile.
Important: Don’t forget to install an external door (this is essential for entering and exiting the ship).
Optional Enhancements
- Armament: Equip your ship with Turrets for defense.
- Aesthetic Details: Add decorative control stations beneath consoles and seats to sit on.
- Living Spaces: Include a lounge, kitchen, bathroom, and even an infirmary.
- Room Dividers: Add walls to separate rooms and doors for access.
- Final Touches: Complete your ship’s interior with small decorations, plants, and signage for navigation.
